Our Safety Policies

American Fence Company Inc has the project goal of ZERO accidents and ZERO injuries, with work tasks designed to minimize or eliminate hazards to personnel, equipment, and the general public.

No worker should ever perform a task that may endanger their own safety and health or that of others.

  • Management's commitment and accountability to provide a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Encouraging open communication between all project personnel and soliciting input, support, and action to achieve an injury-free environment.

Our employees are certified in First Aid / CPR / AED / Blood Borne Pathogens, OSHA 10 and / or OSHA 30, HSE Field Orientation, Excavation Training, BNSF railroad training, Aerial Work Platform Operator Training, AWP's Trained on ANSI 192.6, AWP Operator-Boom, Scissor T&L Contractor Safety, PEC SafeLand training, JS-US007 Level 1 Antiterrorism Awareness Training, OPSEC Awareness for Military Members, DoD Employees and Contractor Security training, Skid Steer / Track Loader / Loader / Bobcat Safety Training.

Site Safety Plan

  • Daily site inspections and safety meetings will be conducted by the Lead Man each morning before any work is performed on job site. All employees will have input on identify and restrict work areas that may present a danger to site personnel. Connie House, Safety Director will make weekly inspections and audit the site.
  • Inspection of the job site before and after each workday to address any safety concerns such as tools left lying around, open holes, housekeeping, pick up any trash, damaged equipment, and any hazards that might have been overlooked.
  • Safety meeting will be held before work begins each day to go over what tasks are scheduled to be performed along with the safety procedures to be followed, discuss any hazards that may be associated with the task and complete a JHA each morning. Job sites will also be inspected throughout the day to identify any potential hazards are found during any inspections, all personnel will be informed and the hazards will be added to the JHA.
  • Address any concerns or issues and acknowledge the good practices observed from the prior day.
  • There will be a Take 5 meeting after lunch to go over any concerns and a new JHA will be completed and signed by each American Fence Company Inc employee on job site.
  • Remember: work is never so pressing that we cannot take time to do it safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
